MICAH House is an emergency family shelter, located on the Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus in Council Bluffs. Serving all of southwest Iowa for more than two decades, MICAH House has been a haven for families and individuals who are experiencing the crisis of homelessness. It provides the resources and support necessary to assist in their efforts to regain permanent housing and employment, as well as address barriers to stability.
Today, MICAH House is the only shelter in the metro area serving families who are homeless and allowing them to remain together. Serving more than 650 individuals annually, over half of whom are children, MICAH House provides comprehensive services that offer support, education, and respect.
A $70,000 grant was awarded this quarter to MICAH House for general operating support for shelter services.
