In February, the Iowa West Foundation kicked off an unprecedented process to reach out to the citizens of Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County. The purpose of the outreach was to share information about the investments made by the foundation and to listen to your thoughts about what is important as we plan for the future.
It began with a series of articles in The Daily Nonpareil that outlined the specifics of the foundation’s investments over the last 10 years and concluded July 15 with one of seven civic club presentations.
During this time, we created a variety of ways to solicit your input. You responded by participating in polls and surveys on our website; responding to my “Leadership Blog” on the website; commenting on our Facebook and Twitter accounts; attending a community conversation at the Lakin Human Services Campus; participating in focus-group conversations, issue-specific listening sessions and leadership interviews; answering grassroots phone surveys; and providing feedback at civic club presentations.
With your conscientious input, the Iowa West Foundation Board of Directors and staff will now develop a thoughtful strategic plan that includes significant community input. At the conclusion of this planning process, later this summer, we will share the strategic direction of the foundation with you through the same various media sources.
On behalf of the Iowa West Board of Directors and myself, thank you for your interest and participation.
